First Baltic electric train production.

Tallinn steam-engine repair plant is founded on Main railway workshop base.
1945
An enterprise is renamed to Kalinin mercury rectifiers plant. Electortechnical Scientific Institute is founded (later aka Kalinin Plant scientific institute).
1958

First mercury rectifier for VL60 electric locomotive production.
1959

Power semiconductor devices design and production special bureau is founded.
1961
Beginning of semiconductor devices and converter equipment conveyor production.
1962
Due to enterprize production profile changing company has received the name of Kalinin electrotechnical plant.
1967
For the first time in USSR thyristor frequency converter is designed and manufactured.
1968

Power semiconductor devices for the first Lunar rover.
1970
Converters for high-voltage motors design and initial production.
1972

First aviation ground services converters design and development.

Estel trademark registration.

ESTEL becomes a Trust.

Company quality management system is accredited according to ISO 9001:2001 international standard.
2001

One of ESTEL trust companies has restored its historical name and became Tallinn Electrotechnical Plant.

New plant premises erection has been completed.

Company has changed its name to Tallinna Elektrotehnika Tehas ESTEL AS

Company Industrial safety management system is certified according to OHSAS 18001 international standard.
