ARO series power supply units are designed for automatic control of the metal melting process in open-type DC electric arc furnaces with capacities up to 30 tons. Multiple power and voltage configurations are available to meet specific furnace requirements. Water cooling and high-performance thyristor technology minimize installation footprint.
The microprocessor control system provides the following advantages:
- Current-free switching of smelting modes
- Optimization of furnace power input
- Built-in unit status diagnostics and testing
- Connection with external systems through RS-485 interface.
Main control system functions:
- Automatic control of the technological variables (current stabilization at a given level);
- Dynamic protection from peak current loads under unstable furnace operating conditions (elimination of operational short circuits)
- Automatic mode of forced oscillation of hearth electrode currents (MHD mixing system)
Automatic current reduction in the furnace by «protection from stray arcs» signal.Current control during automatic ignition of the arc.Automatic switching of power modes on command from the furnace control panel via RS-485 interface or local control.Limiting the level of impact on the supply mains during dynamic loads in the melting process.
